Experience medieval chant, liturgy and monastic training at St Nicholas Church, Brockley

You are warmly invited to join University of Bristol Music Department staff and students to spend a day experiencing chant, liturgy, and activities characteristic of medieval monastic life, in Brockley Church BS48 3AX.

Schedule (all timings approximate):

Arrival and welcome: 10-1030am
1045-1055: terce (English, modern pattern)
1200-1210: sext (English, modern pattern)
1300: eat packed lunches
1500: none (English, modern pattern)
1700: vespers (Latin, medieval pattern)
1745: depart

All participants are invited to join in with singing the liturgical services; no previous experience required; ability to read musical notation is not essential. There will be a core of experienced musicians leading the singing.
