Trail Escape

Bristol to Bath Trail Escape marathon 2025

Description

After the successful pilot in 2024 Experience a new kind of Bristol Run Series event in 2025. Run or hike|walk a marathon on traffic-free routes out into stunning countryside for a unique and fully supported trail experience. Enjoy the rare opportunity to take part in a trail event that takes place on a Saturday and offers city convenience!

Route:
Starting from UWE Bristol with great transport links, the route will follow a traffic-free ‘green corridor’ route out of the city to pick up well established and maintained trails. Participants will enjoy stunning views over the city as well as a relatively ‘gentle’ first section of the route as it heads into the picturesque and relatively flat South Gloucestershire countryside. The middle section of the route will see participants continuing to enjoy mostly flat and traffic-free South Gloucestershire countryside as it gears up for the tougher (but most rewarding) third section of the course; entering the Cotswolds AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The final leg of the route will provide participants with breathtaking views back over to Bristol (and even further into Wales) before the descent into the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath and an amazing finish amongst its iconic Georgian backdrops.

Please see the More Info tab for further information.

University of Bristol 5 & 10 mile paced training run 2025

University of Bristol 5 & 10 mile paced training run 2025

Description

This event has been developed and introduced from our Run Series community feedback. You asked for the reintroduction of gateway distances to support those of you wanting to transition from 5k to 10k, or 10k to half, or even one pathway to the next. We couldn’t find one, so with a little bit of help from our new partners the Underfall Yard Trust, we’ve created one that fits perfectly into this years Series.

So come and join us in the heart of Bristol on Sunday the 23 March 2025. A relaxed introduction or re-introduction into in-person events, with approximate finish timed wave starts so you are with similarly paced runners. This event isn’t about quick times, but about pacing, getting the distance in your legs, and being immersed in the heart of the city with like minded people. The reward at the end is a medal [just wait until you see it!] and food and refreshments right on the harbour waterside in the heart of the historic Underfall Yard.

All finishers will receive a 100% recycled 5 or 10 miler medal, as well as food and refreshments care of the wonderful Underfall Yard Café.

Each distance has several waves, so you will be with similarly paced runners. This event is all about supporting you from a 5k to 10k … or from the 10k to the illusive half marathon in small, in supportive, paced run groups. Your training run group leaders are part of the University Athletics and Cross-Country Club [UoBACCC], Sport, Exercise and Health staff, or part of our Run Series community, not to mention you will have the worlds greatest marshals to support you enroute.

Please see the More Info tab for further details, including prices.
