SPIN Colloquium 2024

Biannual conference of the SPIN research community featuring presentations and papers by leading scholars exploring the social, cultural and political dimensions of secrecy and ignorance.

This colloquium welcomes scholars from across disciplines – including but not limited to Anthropology, Criminology, Cultural Studies, Education, History, International Relations, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology and the trans-disciplinary areas of Surveillance Studies, Intelligence Studies, Secrecy Studies, and Agnotology -- to share their thoughts and research on how secrecy (re)makes the world. Together, we will hear different disciplinary perspectives on key concepts, ideas and challenges of working ‘against the grain’ in relation to secrecy, ignorance, knowledge, and information and the way in which secrecy (re)makes the world.

In the unlikely circumstances that the colloquium is cancelled, refunds for registration fees will be issued. Should you need to withdraw up to two weeks before the colloquium (27 Nov 2024), unfortunately we will not be able to issue individual refunds owing to the need to pay deposits and confirm numbers for catering purposes.
