Horizons End of Year Ball & BBQ 2026

Horizons will be marking the end of term with a garden party in the stunning grounds of Goldney Hall on Thursday May 21st, 2-7pm. Come along to play some relaxed garden games with friends, and stay for the tasty BBQ and soft drinks. We will have a DJ in the Orangery and a chance to add to our own playlist so expect a chilled and friendly vibe to take you in to the early evening. This event is a chance to dress up so if you want to go with formal dress please do, but note this is optional and the only dress code is to dress how you feel comfortable. We will have a photobooth for capturing fun memories of the night.

Horizons events are only open to students from Global Majority backgrounds, and by this we mean students from Black, Asian, Arab, Latin-American, Mixed/Multiple Heritage, and other students of colour. We recognise that your identity can shape who you are and how you experience the University, and we know Global Majority students can sometimes feel unrepresented, isolated and not supported. Horizons aims to create opportunities for Global Majority students to find community, gain new skills and connect. There are a variety of other events at the University that are open to all cultures and student groups.

The food provided at this event will be clearly labelled and the caterer will be asked to avoid using common allergens such as peanuts. There will be vegetarian and gluten free options.
