Aerosol Science CDT: Fundamentals of Aerosol Science Course 2026

Training provision for partners: 1-week intensive course 2026

In-person intensive course in the fundamentals of aerosol science for industry, public and third sector employees. This CPD training is perfect for employees who do not have formal training in aerosol science and would benefit from a better understanding of the core science to deliver their role.

What does the cost include: Access to the CDT training e-portal, facilitation of training by experts, certification at the end of the course, lunch and refreshments during the 5-day course, course dinner on the Thursday evening.

What to Expect: The training will be delivered in-person by Team-Based Learning. Each participant will need to go through pre-class material on the CDT e-portal for each training day of the course. This consists of a total of 6 hours of video lectures, reading material and quizzes. Please allow 10-25 hours to complete this depending on your prior experience. We recommend participants complete this before arriving for the training week.

Content of the course: Each day will focus on a particular topic core to any activity in aerosol science. The day will begin with a multiple-choice individual readiness assurance test (iRAT) and will be followed by a team-based readiness assurance test (tRAT) where attendees will work through the same questions as a team. After a mini-lecture clarifying any areas of misunderstanding, participants will undertake team work on application exercises solving challenging problems in aerosol science that apply the core knowledge gained from the self-guided learning using the e-portal.
