Description
Standard Registration.
Clinical ethics consultation: From theory to practice in the age of COVID.
This is a one day training course aimed at members of hospital clinical ethics committees. It is run by members of the faculty from the University of Bristol's Centre for Ethics in Medicine. The course will look at the changing face of clinical ethics consultation due to the pandemic, discuss the role of expertise, ethical theories and moral psychology in the present healthcare landscape. It will also introduce clinical ethics committee members to the use of frameworks for case discussion, with opportunities to practice the use of frameworks in group work. The emphasis is on equipping ethics committee members with opportunities to improve their skills through the use of worked examples and facilitated deliberations of difficult cases. A two course lunch is provided, together with regular refreshments.
