Description

This event is in the process of being set up and is not yet available for booking.

Discover how your skills in Computer Science and AI can help solve some of the most exciting challenges in modern biology. This one-day workshop, organized by AIBIO-UK and in partnership with the Engineering Biology CDT, is designed for early-career researchers and academics with little experience in the life sciences. Through engaging talks and interactive discussions, you’ll gain an overview of emerging opportunities at the intersection of AI and biology. The event also provides time for cross-disciplinary networking. Join us to spark new ideas, broaden your research horizons, and explore impactful directions where AI can transform the life sciences.

We very welcome submission of abstracts for consideration as short oral and poster presentations (before 4th January). Titles can be provided during the sign-up process, and abstracts can be sent my email by the 4th of January. We are particularly interested in submissions from early career researchers (PhDs and postdocs) and will have travel awards to support students’ attendance that will be awarded once the schedule has been finalised.

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the workshop.

We are also co-running in Bristol an optional 1-day hack-a-thon (14 Jan 2026), and an aligned “AI, Engineering Biology and Beyond 2026” 2-day conference (15-16 Jan 2026). More details, speaker line up and schedule, and registration link for both the hack-a-thon and conference can be found at the conference website: https://aiebab.github.io/.
