Each class will provide you with guidance and instruction to exercise your observational skills and to improve your drawing abilities. Each evening you will be witness to a different part of the garden, with an ever changing variety of form, smell and colour in this unique botanical collection. Beekeeping Taster Day 12 August 2017

Learn about the essentials of beekeeping on this day workshop with experienced beekeeper Quentin Alsop.

Quentin will take you through the basics of this ancient skill with a presentation in the morning, followed by a hands on workshop explaining the beekeepers tools and equipment and how to make them. Then, after lunch (not provided) you will get kitted up, introduced to a live hive and learn about the society of these facinating insects and how to manage them.

Love your Minibeasts - children's workshop

Mini beasts come in all shapes and are tucked away under logs and debris; they are vitally important for processing dead material and feeding on even smaller mini beasts.

On this childrens workshop Julie Henderson searches the Garden for those hidden bugs and insects and imparts her knowledge and enthusiasm to the bug hunters. They will then learn how to make a bug hotel to attract them into your own garden.

Please wear suitable clothing and comfortable footwear as you will be outside in the Botanic Garden for much of the time.
