Science picnic: Honey a magical medicine with Dr Rowena Jenkins - Standard Ticket

garden

£5.50

Description

The Botanic Garden science picnics are an opportunity to engage with scientists in a relaxed and informal environment on a summer evening. This year we are focusing on bees, pollinators and the impact of their work.

Dr Rowena Jenkins is a microbiologist at Cardiff Metropolitan University and lecturer/researcher in the Department of Health Sciences. To date the main body of her research has focused on the antimicrobial effects of manuka honey on potentially pathogenic healthcare/wound associated microorganisms. During this science picnic she will discuss her research looking at the incredible health benefits of honey.

The event will run from 6pm to 8pm. Please feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the Botanic Garden beforehand.
