Description

The authors Sarah Perry and Kate Summerscale will be appearing to discuss the creative and historical dimensions of their work with academics and members of the general public.

Sarah Perry's recent novel 'The Essex Serpent' is set in nineteenth-century London and Essex, and was named Waterstones Book of the Year 2016. 

Kate Summerscale has won critical acclaim for a series of non-fiction books set in the Victorian period, including 'The Queen of Whale Cay' (1997 Whitbread Award for biography) and 'The Suspicions of Mr Whicher' (2008 Samuel Johnson Prize). 

This is the final event in a series on 'Creative Histories', supported by the British Academy, and the University of Bristol Department of History, Faculty of Arts, and School of Humanities. 

The event will start at 6pm sharp. Doors open from 5:30pm.
